LAPIERRE FARMS

Farming is in Mark LaPierre’s blood. Growing up, both his grandparents had farms in the Yakima area and he worked on farms through high school and college. In 1985 Mark LaPierre decided that he wanted to start his own cherry orchard so he bought a small piece of land and with a lot of hard work his vision became a reality. LaPierre Farms has been family-owned and certified organic for over 20 years. Their method is simple–rooted in decades of mastery and appreciation for the land. Nestled in the Rattlesnake hills and surrounded by Washington’s peak, their constant desire to produce the best fruit possible inspired the transition to organic farming and they now produce organic cherries, blueberries and peaches.

In 2010 the LaPierre family started growing blueberries in Zillah, Washington. LaPierre blueberries are harvested by hand and the harvesters pass through the field multiple times each season to allow the berries to reach ideal size and that classic blueberry flavor. LaPierre sweet Bing Cherries are at peak flavor and are excellent for baking, making jams or even freezing.
