Produce that inspires… knowledge.
Our passion for produce and drive to share knowledge across the chain is one of our biggest differentiators at Earl’s Organics.
COSMIC CRISP
Crisp, juicy, sweet-tart. The Cosmic Crisp is a large, juicy apple with a remarkably firm and crisp texture. We think it snaps when you bit into it! The Cosmic Crisp is a rich red that almost sparkles with starburst like lenticels. Eat fresh out of hand and holds up well when baked or cooked.
ARKANSAS BLACK
Arkansas Black apples taste better after being in storage for a bit. Patient eaters are rewarded with a sweet, firm fruit that offers notes of cherry, cinnamon, vanilla, and coriander. Mountain grown by Cuyama Orchards, a small family farm in Ventura County, California.
LIMEQUATS
Limequats are a cross between a key lime and kumquat. They have a sweet tasting skin and bitter-sweet pulp with a flavor similar to limes. Roll the limequat between your palms to get the juices flowing and release the essential oils. Eat them whole (yes, the seeds too) like a kumquat or use the skins to flavor deserts and drinks.
CRESPO DRIED MANGOES
New from Crespo Organic, delicious dried Ataulfo and Round Mango varieties, available year-round. Succulent, ripe, silky smooth mangoes are dried into sweet and chewy snacks in Crespo’s hometown of El Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico.
SIDE HILL CITRUS
Rich Ferreira is a 4th generation farmer who started with only 75 Satsuma trees back in 1975. Rich has been certified organic since 1991 and now has over 2000 trees. The combination of a higher elevation of 600 feet, nutrient filled organic clay soil, warm summer days and cool nights and using a Satsuma Owari rootstock from China all contribute to growing consistently delicious Satsuma Mandarins year after year.
SIDE HILL SATSUMAS HERALD IN THE CITRUS SEASON
From our frame of reference Side Hill Citrus Satsumas from Lincoln, in the Sacramento foothills have the perfect mix of sweetness, tartness and low acidity, with very little pulp, no seeds and taste like they are melting in your mouth.
COVILLI FAIR TRADE SINCE 2015
Covilli became Fair Trade Certified in December 2015. They are the first and only 100% Organic and 100% Fair Trade company in North America. Since December 2015 Covilli has sold over 29 million pounds of Fair Trade product! Thank you for voting with your dollars and contributing to the Fair Trade Premium. With those funds Covilli’s workers have completed 4 community projects and have another 3 in the works.
LABOR DAY HEAT WAVE IMPACT
An intense heat wave is coming over the Labor weekend and into Labor Day week. Temperatures will reach over 105 degrees in many growing regions including Salinas Valley and Bakersfield. The heat affects our food production, putting not only the plants and fruit at risk but the people harvesting our food.
PASSION FRUIT
Passion Fruit are ripe and ready to eat when they start to wrinkle. Cut in half, scoop out and eat the pulp and seeds! Pairs well with smooth and buttery California Keitt mangos.
